Maricá is a quiet coastal town where unhurried life is the norm. It is a place of immense natural beauty and nice friendly people. Large enough to have the amenities you would need on a daily basis, Maricá is just the right size not to have the hassles of city traffic and high tourist prices. With a population of over 75,000 people, Maricá is a small city with lots of great things to offer.

Considered as the entrance to the Lakes and Beaches Region, Maricá is one of the most beautiful cities in the State of Rio de Janeiro. Without a doubt, it is blessed with natural beauties – from gently rolling hills to unique mountain peaks; from a canal to four interconnected lakes; from the Atlantic Ocean to 45 kilometres of white sandy beaches; from verdant meadows to a town centre that continues to show growth and positive changes.

There are several nearby museums, a water park, historical landmarks, annual carnival festivities, shopping, botanical gardens, rainforests, environmental preserves, sightseeing, nightlife of dancing to samba music or karaoke singing, cable car rides, excellent food, art, great culture and its biggest assets, its warm and very friendly people!!!

It is about an hour from the famous city of Rio de Janeiro, world-renowned beaches such as Copacabana, Ipanema, Flamengo, Botafogo and Cabo Frio, the Rio international airport, and the must-see tourist attractions Statue of Christ and Sugar Loaf Mountain where one is confronted with breathtaking and incomparable sceneries. It is only 35 minutes from its neighbour city Niterói, which has a population of over 1,000,000 people.  Maricá is experiencing a major property boom, international companies are investing billions of $ in new luxury condominium complexes and mega resort hotels. Petrobras the Brazilian national oil company is also investing millions of $ in the infrastructure of the Maricá area which will no doubt have an effect on property prices.
